Latest Fishing Reports: December 21, 2011: (TUES) Today we ran out last open boat Tog trip for the season and it was ok. The first drop was in 60 ft of water and had a good pick of keepers and loads of short life up to 8 lbs.The second drop was loaded with life, alot of shorts there but enough keepers to make it intresting.The next two drops were tough with a few fish on each.The last drop of the day was good with mostly keepers on this one.James was HH today with 11 and jimmy and Brett both had 7 a piece and everyone else had their limit or better.Only limits were taken and the rest released for next season. MONTAUK COD STARTING JANUARY CALL FOR DETAILS 1-917-822-6770 COD AND LING TRIPS STARTING 12-21-11 CAPT.STEVE December 19, 2011: (SAT) Today was a open boat Tog trip and started off at 17 and the current was screaming to the bow which sucked.We did manage a few nice Tog there as well as ling and a Seabass.The dogs were a problem there as well today.Due to the horrible conditions we moved West to a wreck and picked just a few more there.The last drop we went further inshore for just a few more keepers , overall a very slow day for us .Billy was high hook with 6 keepers and the pool fish also. (sun) Today was a open boat Tog trip and started down South inshore in 35 ft water.We had a slow pick of keepers and shorts, when that died we made a drop on the reef and just picked a few more keepers.It is getting late in the day and only have 15 keepers made another drop few miles North and had a good shot of fish there which made the day.Everyone had at least their limit and high hook was 11 keepers(limit only). LAST OPEN BOAT TOG TRIP THIS TUESDAY 1-917-822-6770 LING AND COD TRIPS STARTING 12-21-11 MONTAUK COD STARTING IN JANUARY CAPT.STEVE December 12, 2011: Today we ran a open boat Tog trip and our first drop was in 80 ft and there was life there.We picked 10 keepers off of it and returned some shorts.The second drop was in 65 ft and the fish were there but only one problem all shorts, only got one keepers there.The rest of the day was tough with the anchoring conditions were we fished , just could not sit still.Victor was HH with 7 keepers (limit only) and also took the pool. OPEN BOAT TOG DAILY MONTAUK COD STARTING JANUARY 1-917-822-6770 capt.steve December 10, 2011: Today was a open boat trip and we only had 4 anglers.We fished down South inshore on some wrecks and rockpiles.The first wreck we had a pick of keepers and shorts,Brett had a big Tog on there that unfortunley straightned out his hook .The rest of the day was a pick, the life was not fast and furious but if you made your bites count you did ok.James was HH today with 11 and Brett had 9 and Tommy had 7 all just keeping their limits.We also had a nice winter Flounder that was released. OPEN BOAT TOG DAILY 1-917- 822-6770 MONTAUK COD STARTING JANUARY ,CALL FOR INFO WWW.BIGMEXPRESS.COM CAPT.STEVE December 05, 2011: SUN) Today was a open boat Tog trip and it was a pick on all of the drops.We had to hit several wrecks to put a catch togeather but we did.The first three drops was alot of life but the fish were just keeprs to 5 lbs.We moved down South to a wreck and Tom nailed his personel best of 11 lbs.We did have a few other nice size fish as well for the day.John was HH today with 9 keepers (limit only) and a few other had five or so and who had their limits. (mon) Today we ran a open boat Tog trip and it started off good with a nice blast of good size fish.When the current slacked it slowed up so we made to a move to another piece.We got another shot of quality fish again,when that died we hit a wreck and only caught a few there.The rest of the day was slow with one here and there.Colonel jack was HH today with 8 and took the pool with a 7 lb fish. OPEN BOAT TOG DAILY 1-917-822-6770 MONTAUK COD STARTING JANUARY WWW.BIGMEXPRESS.COM CAPT.STEVE December 03, 2011: (FRI) Today we had a open boat Tog trip and it started off good with a bunch of nice fish to 8 lbs.After a hour or so it just slowed to a death pick.We made a move to the West to a wreck and picked a few more big fish and broke off a few as well which shut down the wreck.It is getting late now and maybe 20 or so keepers in the boat had to find some more and that we did.We hit two more wrecks for the day with a nice pick on each of keepers and shorts.Jack was HH today with twelve keepers and also the pool.BRET ad nine and everyone else at least got there limit.The boat finished with 40 keepers for the day and only retaining our legal limits. OPEN BOAT TOG DAILY UNLESS CHARTERED 1-917-822-6770 MONTAUK COD STARTING IN JANUARY BOOK NOW FOR CHARTERS CAPT.STEVE December 01, 2011: Today we ran a open boat Tog trip and the conditions and fishing were very tough for us this AM.Even with all the wind this AM the boat would not sit into the wind due to the hard northerley current. We made a move to the North and the conditions were much better for anchoring, we actually laid into the wind.The fishing was better now that we laid true and had a slow pick.James was HH today with 10 keepers to 8 lbs (limit only) and who had 5 to their limit all the way down to none.One drop did have a fair amount of short life as well.It was a tough grind but scrachted out some what of a catch. CAPT.STEVE November 28, 2011: This friday and saturday we had charters for Tog and the fishing was tough.We hit several drops from 50 to 80 ft and the results were the same, a few on each drop.The charters wound up with 20 or so keepers each trip..There has been alot of short life to fill in the lulls. (sun) Today was a open boat Tog trip and the fishing remains slow.We hit drops close to home and as far down South to Elberon.It is just a tough grind right now.I think as soon as we get through the moon and some colder temps coming up fishing will improve.Danny was HH today with 5 keepers and most others gOt at least three.We did break off some big fish on the last drop but that is fishing. On the first drop we had some keepers with a ton of shorts tried to wait it out but it never got any better.We pulled the hooks and tried another drop and the life there was much better with size and quanity.The third drop was ok with another 15 or so keepers coming up real quick.Pogy jack was HH today with 16 keepers (limit only)also returing a load of shors as well.Rob had 10 keepers (limit only) and everyone else limited out no problen except for one angler who beat on the shorts but could not get his keepers. OPEN BOAT DAILY UNLESS CHARTERED 1-917-822-6770 WWW.BIGMEXPRESS.COM CAPT.STEVE November 20, 2011: (SAT) Today we ran a open boat Tog trip and it was a picky bite.The current was screaming to the North once again.The more experinced anglers did ok getting their limit and one sharpie got eleven keepers ,keeping his limit and helping out some who did not fare as well.We had to hit a bunch of bottom to put somewhat of a catch togeather. (sunday) Today was Tog charter for Willie and his friends and we started down the beach due to the hard SW winds this AM and sloppy seas. The inshore grounds were no good for us just a handful of keepers and some shorts.It is getting late now and a few fish in the boat. Finally the seas starting laying down a little so we moved out East and started to pick away .In just two and half hours we caught another twenty five keepers plus some shorts.The charter finished up with 32 keepers for the day ,not bad for the way the day was going.
